Shipping and Receiving Clerk - Mt. Prospect, IL

Description

• Compares shipping documents against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
• Determines best method of shipment.
• Prepares shipping labels, shipping instructions and shipping crates/containers.
• Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage.
• Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and routes items to departments.
• Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
• Operates lift truck or uses hand truck to move shipments.

Requirements

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong math skills. 
• Must be highly detail-oriented, must follow written instructions and verify accuracy of information. 
• Must have strong computer skills; Knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
• Experience using computerized shipping manifest systems is a plus. 
• Must have valid driver’s license and good driving record. 
• Must be certified to operate a forklift.
• Must be able to lift up to 75lbs.
