Production line downtime reduced by 75%
|
E-T-A electronic circuit breakers have reduced 24V DC wiring fault downtime by around 75% on the axle welding line, and between 50 & 70% in the stamping shop at the Sunderland plant of Nissan Motor Manufacturing (UK).
Monostable Power Relay PR60
|
Power relay PR60 has been designed for single-pole switching of loads in vehicle applications. Available in ratings of 100A, 200A and 300A, it is ideally suited for use as a battery disconnect relay or for switching other high current circuits. PR60 features a robust design, offers various mounting styles, and a high level of protection (IP 67) against water or dust ingress which facilitates installation in almost every type of vehicle and mounting position.
The main load connections are by means of M8 (100 A and 200 A) or M10 (200 A and 300 A) stud terminals. An insulating barrier between the terminals protects against accidental shorting when the cables are connected. Optionally available suppressor diodes eliminate the risk of damage to control circuitry by back-emf voltage peaks when the relay coil is disconnected.
E-T-A to the fore at the Dakar Rally
|
The Dakar rally started on 3rd January in Buenos Aires and also ended there on 18th January. A total of 6000 km, leading through wayless territory in Argentina and Chile, had to be mastered by the drivers.
This year E-T-A was aboard with one of the truck teams. The Russian truck manufacturer KAMAZ sent three teams into the race with their model »4326«. All of them were fitted with our high performance circuit breakers 449 and 483 protecting the truck against the catastrophic consequences of overload current and short circuit. All three vehicles completed the race – which is a really great achievement in view of an overall failure rate of some 25 %.
But that is not the end of it. The KAMAZ teams came in as the one of the big winners of the rally, winning the ranks 1, 2 and 4 – congratulations on this great success!
The rally Dakar is a race where reliability and endurance of all components are of the essence if a team wants to be successful. Being at the fore at this race gives impressive proof of E-T-A’s superior quality, very much in accordance with the E-T-A motto »Setting the pace for circuit protection«.

Mine Sweepers with E-T-A PowerPlex
![]() |
Some weeks ago the US Navy successfully concluded their first test of a completely unmanned mine-sweeping vessel. Mine detection is always a task of top priority because of the mortal danger for the crew of manned ships.
The E-T-A PowerPlex was also on board. It is a de-centralised, individually configurable power distribution and control system, consisting of a number of modules distributed on the boat for connection of loads, switches and sensors. These components communicate with each other via a CAN bus system which allows the entire system to behave like a single control computer despite their different locations.
Testimonials of the US Navy confirm that the E-T-A PowerPlex features superior user convenience, a wealth of possibilities for on-board power management and unrivalled reliability.
E-T-A receives supplier award from Airbus
![]() |
In accordance with our slogan “Setting the pace for circuit protection”, E-T-A received a supplier award from aircraft manufacturer Airbus. Airbus evaluates their suppliers with regard to five different categories (technology, quality improvement, small, medium and big supplier) and awards a prize to the winner every two years. E-T-A won the award in the category “small supplier”.
Airbus invited all winners to Paris and handed over the trophy to Marko Wilsdorf, Head of the E-T-A Division, and to Gerhard Wittmann, Head of the E-T-A Quality Management. Our strengths lay in the sectors “Quality” and “Logistics”. We had been able to supply 95 % of all Airbus orders within the promised lead time, i.e. max. 3 days before the stipulated date, but latest on the stipulated date. With regard to quality we had an even better performance than the requested max. ppm value of 500 (i.e. 0.05 %).
Airbus is a major partner of ours in the aerospace industry. This is why this award is greatly appreciated by everyone at E-T-A.
