A background to E-T-A

Innovation combined with proven technology has been a cornerstone of E-T-A since its formation in 1948. Today, E-T-A is a world leader in the design and manufacture of circuit breakers for equipment protection, and in sophisticated electronic control solutions. The two founding partners, Jakob Ellenberger and Harald A. Poensgen, had identified a market opportunity for miniaturised electrical protection devices. Their original mission, »protection and safety of personnel and equipment« is still as valid today as it was then. This theme is being developed further with futuristic high technology products for the global markets of tomorrow.
